Dear Donor,
A few weeks ago, the grounds of Korwana Primary School were alive with laughter, muddy hands, and hopeful hearts. Students crouched beside tiny seedlings, some giggling as they dug more holes than needed, each planting a promise for a greener tomorrow.
This is the kind of moment your support makes possible.
Your kindness is helping us turn numbers into real impact, nurturing young minds, deepening their connection with nature, and inspiring a love for the environment that will last far beyond the classroom. Together, we’re growing conscious climate champions and a greener community.
Expanding Our Reach: More Climate Action Workshops
In our last report, Growing More Than Gardens, we shared how the enthusiasm of students attending our Climate Action Workshops began to ripple outward, inspiring their friends and classmates back at school. This momentum only grew stronger throughout July, as the workshops expanded to reach four schools: Alendu Primary School, Nyamware Primary School, Korwana Primary School, and Central Primary School.
Shelton, our passionate speaker and trainer, reflected:
“The workshops have been a heartening success. It’s inspiring to see how deeply children care about nature, their curiosity and sense of wonder truly come alive during visits to the mini botanical garden at RKF. Their thoughtful questions and reflections show that they don’t just want to learn about the environment, they want to protect it.”
This spark has led many students to become young climate champions in their own right. One student from Central Primary even started a mini garden at home. Others have carefully tended to the seedlings they received post-workshop, while some have chosen to care for them on school grounds. Small but powerful acts of stewardship reflect a growing commitment to creating a greener, more conscious, and climate-resilient community. This is achieved through our two-hour sessions, which blend environmental theory with hands-on practical learning. These workshops don’t just inform, they inspire action, giving students both the knowledge and the tools to care for their environment meaningfully.
Since the workshops began, we have conducted 18 sessions, which were attended by a total of 280 students from 4 schools.
Tree Planting with Purpose
In June, our workshops came to life at Korwana Primary with a joyful, hands-on tree planting day. The students took ownership of every step, from digging holes to gently placing each seedling in the ground.
We planted 120 seedlings, including cypress, grevillea, and pawpaw trees. More than 90% are thriving, a testament to student care, even in the face of unusually heavy rains that claimed a few. Many students even asked for more seedlings, eager to do more for their school’s environment.
We’re committed to supporting them with more seedlings, tools, and opportunities to grow alongside the green spaces they’re helping to build.
Support hands-on Climate Education today.
A gift of just $75 equips young learners at Korwana Primary School with the gardening tools and supplies they need to keep their trees, and their hopes growing strong. It empowers them to dig deeper, grow smarter, and care for their environment with confidence.
Your support today won’t just care for a tree. It will plant hope, ownership, and the belief that each child can be a guardian of our planet.
