This project supports 170 women who have been exploited as bonded laborers in stone quarries, brick kilns, and hollow block units. Rural and tribal communities face challenges in education, economic development, and health. Advance payments from employers force these women to work for minimal wages without any say in their earnings, often exposing them to sexual exploitation. We promote economic development through income generation projects.
We are working with 170 women who have been employed as bonded laborers in stone quarries, brick kilns, and hollow block units for many years. These women are forced to work for very low wages because they were given money in advance. As a result, they struggle to earn enough to support themselves, leading to immense hardship. To improve their situation, we are implementing rehabilitation plans and income-generating activities. These efforts aim to help them achieve better economic conditions.
We will organize a series of five-day awareness and brainstorming sessions for 170 beneficiary women. These sessions will focus on the future course of action, including discussions on transitioning to alternative occupations. Each program will accommodate 25 women and will take place over a period of three weeks, scheduled on rest days to facilitate participation. Additionally, we will organize rallies, distribute handbills, and exhibit posters on relevant issues in 50 villages, engaging women
