This project ensures SAWS Animal Welfare operates its two shelters in Eswatini: Mbabane and Manzini. These shelters provide daily care including food, medication, utilities, and safe housing for vulnerable dogs and cats. Funding supports caregiver salaries, shelter maintenance, emergency rescues, veterinary care and spay/neuter through partner vets, as well as staff training in animal welfare and humane handling.
SAWS Animal Welfare in Eswatini is entirely reliant on donations to provide food, veterinary care, sterilisation, and rescue services for vulnerable animals. With rising numbers of abandoned and unsterilised pets, limited public funding, and increasing operational costs, the shelter struggles to meet basic welfare needs. Without sustainable financial support, essential care and life-saving interventions for animals at risk are severely limited.
This project will raise vital funds to support daily shelter operations, including food, veterinary care, sterilisation, and outreach support for vulnerable animals. Donations will provide consistent, practical resources that allow SAWS to respond to emergencies, improve animal welfare standards, and sustain essential services. By securing reliable funding, the shelters can care for more animals and reduce suffering through preventative and ongoing care.
Long-term, this project will create more stable and sustainable animal welfare services in Eswatini. Consistent funding will enable ongoing sterilisation, preventative care, and community outreach, reducing overpopulation and neglect. Over time, this leads to healthier animals, fewer stray populations, and stronger responsible pet ownership within communities, improving welfare standards and reducing pressure on shelters.
