At Enseña por México, we believe that education is the most powerful tool to close inequality gaps. Yet, millions of children and young people growing up in vulnerable contexts are denied access to quality education—leading to low academic achievement, high dropout rates, and limited opportunities for personal and professional growth. For them, unequal access to education is not just a barrier—it's a systemic injustice that hinders their ability to thrive.

That’s why the Leadership Program of Enseña por México is more than a teaching initiative—it’s a catalyst for change. By training and accompanying committed leaders—Profesionales de Enseña por México (PEM)—we work hand-in-hand with communities to strengthen academic outcomes while building a culture of possibility, resilience, and self-belief among students. PEMs become mentors, role models, and trusted allies, equipping children and youth with the tools they need to overcome adversity, pursue their dreams, and lead change in their own communities.

At Enseña por México we are aware that educational inequality is a critical problem in the country, especially among those who are born into a highly vulnerable social environment and do not have access to a comprehensive education. This situation is reflected in low academic results and high levels of school dropout. For many young people, educational inequality means a barrier to accessing opportunities that would allow them to live a full life; a situation that represents the root of many other social problems that affect all Mexicans: crime, drug trafficking, corruption, the low competitiveness of the labor force, the perpetuation of cycles of poverty and low social mobility, socioeconomic inequality, among others.

Through our Leadership Program, the Professionals of Teach for Mexico (PEM) collaborate in vulnerable communities within schools and educational centers ranging from early childhood education to high school education. In this way, a broad, diverse and inclusive movement of committed leaders is being built that promotes leadership through education in Mexico, allowing educators as well as children and young people to develop and reach their full potential.

We are convinced that education is the most powerful tool for improving opportunities throughout life and, with the support of our allies, we can reach more communities to ensure they receive a better education.

During the 2024-2025 school year, we managed to reach more than 3,000 girls and boys and more than 1,000 primary caregivers and educational agents in early childhood education, designing and implementing meaningful learning experiences, promoting their cognitive skills; and more than 13,000 primary, secondary and high school students, enhancing their socio-emotional skills (self-control, self-efficacy, growth mindset and social awareness) and strengthening at least one of the 21st Century Skills (Creativity, Innovation, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Communication, Collaboration).
