Dear friends of the Mbata farmers' project,
Thank you for your continued interest and support in the Smart Agri Centre in Mbata! This project has connected 10 houses and 60 businesses, and a cold store which all continue to thrive on solar power.
The Challenges:
Our fantastic project partners, Kiima Food, who are on the ground in Uganda, received reports recently that the system was not functioning as it should and the power available had been reduced, this created concerns for the businesses and houses now relying on the power supply available.
The Wins:
Chris and Peter from Kiima therefore headed out to Mbata and repaired the batteries. The system is now back to full power functionality thanks to these repairs!
Whilst in the community Kiima have also been busy cleaning the solar panels and running electricity sensitisation training, and maintenance training for the community.
The whole system is now up and running again smoothly and this is such a good example of why it is important that these projects have local partners who are able to quickly respond to issues as they arise.
If you are able to continute to support it would be absolutely fantastic, and your ongoing support will help to ensure the continued connection of the houses and businesses, and Kiima's ability to maintain the power system in Mbata. If you cannot support at this time then thank you for your previous support and for taking the time to check in with this project.
As ever, please share this project with friends and family so that we can continue to assist Mbata farmers, we and our partners at Kiima Foods appreciate your support!
With warm wishes from,
Anastasia and the whole team at SVRG
