Dear Friend,
We bring to you our latest report on "Feed the poor and needy in Goa".
Feeding the poor and needy is a fundamental act of compassion and social responsibility. It goes beyond mere charity, offering a vital lifeline to those struggling with hunger and food insecurity. Providing nourishment to those in need not only alleviates immediate suffering but also contributes to improved health, well-being, and the potential for a more hopeful future.
While Goa generally enjoys a higher per capita income, hunger and food insecurity persist, particularly among vulnerable populations like children, women, and the elderly. This isn't just about a lack of food, but also malnutrition and inadequate access to nutritious food. Goa's economic prosperity doesn't negate the existence of hunger. Factors like poverty, lack of access to resources, and even food wastage contribute to the issue.
Sarita (name changed) comes from a family that has faced immense hardship, living on the streets and relying on begging for their survival. Both of her parents struggled with drug addiction, leaving her to care for her younger sister while they navigated the harsh realities of life in Goa. For days, they endured hunger and uncertainty, desperately seeking food and shelter. Fortunately, an outreach worker discovered them in Calangute and recognized their plight. Understanding the dire situation, the worker offered them a chance for a better life at El Shaddai’s Rainbow House. With their parents indifferent to their well-being, She and her sister were admitted to the Rainbow House, where they were embraced with warmth and compassion. There, they received nourishing meals, a safe place to stay, and the promise of a brighter future. She feels a profound sense of relief and happiness for both herself and her sister, grateful for the opportunity to thrive in a nurturing environment at El Shaddai.
We extend our gratitude for your generous donations through which we were able to provide food to the poor and needy.
Your donation has made a huge impact and aided us in transforming lives to a better one.
With Gratitude
Sincerely
El Shaddai Family
