Food for all, hunger for none

By Julia Matthew | Managing Director

Dear Patron,

Greetings from El Shaddai Charitable trust and we bring to you our latest report on “Feeding the poor and needy in Goa”.

Hunger and malnutrition in underprivileged children are critical issues resulting from a combination of factors like poverty, inadequate access to food and healthcare, and poor hygiene. These problems lead to severe physical and cognitive developmental problems, such as stunting and increased susceptibility to disease, and can perpetuate a cycle of poverty across generations.

El Shaddai has made its main mission to ensure that no child in our care goes to bed hungry. Through our feeding programme, nutritious meals are lovingly prepared with fresh ingredients every single day and served in Homes, schools, shelters and slums. This year approximately 700 meals were served daily and we can serve more underprivileged children and communities with your help and support.

We have a story of a boy named Anil (name changed). He was found by our outreach workers is a malnourished state. He used to beg for food along with his grandmother. He was taken to our day care shelter where he was given warm nutritious food and then was enrolled in one of our homes. It’s been three years and this boy is now grown healthy, there is color in his cheeks and a smile on his face.

We at El Shaddai believe that the intake of food not only sustains a person, it also paves a way for a healthy future.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your thoughtful donations which have aided us in the cause of transforming children lives.

With Gratitude

El Shaddai family
