Dear Esteemed Supporters,
As we welcome the New Year, the team at the Support Yemeni Society Organization (SYS) extends our warmest wishes to you and your families. This season of renewal provides a wonderful opportunity to reflect on a significant milestone: six years of partnership that have fundamentally transformed the lives of thousands of young girls in rural Yemen.
A Legacy of Nourishment and Education
Thanks to your unwavering commitment, we have successfully distributed over two million breakfast meals to date. What began as an initiative to support 1,000 students has evolved into a vital movement dedicated to promoting dignity, health, and academic excellence.
At schools such as Al-Najah and Al-Razi, your contributions do far more than provide nutrition; they remove the barrier of hunger that often prevents brilliant minds from accessing education. By ensuring these students are fed, you empower their families to prioritize long-term learning over immediate survival.
Holistic Care and Community Growth
Our work on the ground continues daily, moving beyond the plate to provide a comprehensive support system. Our initiatives include:
· Psychological Counseling: Supporting the mental well-being of students facing hardship.
· Extracurricular Engagement: Programs like our "Joy in Learning" festivals which foster growth and resilience.
The impact of this work is best captured by those we serve:
"I used to worry about being hungry during exams, but now I only think about my lessons. I want to be a doctor so I can help my village." — Laila, 6th-grade student.
"The burden that has been lifted from our shoulders is immense. Seeing my daughters leave for school happy and fed gives me hope for a better future." — Ahmed, father of three.
The Path Ahead
While we celebrate these successes, the current humanitarian landscape remains challenging. Recent reductions in international aid have placed a significant strain on local initiatives. For many of our students, the school meal remains their only reliable source of nutrition.
To sustain this vital lifeline and ensure no girl is left behind, we invite you to consider the following:
a Monthly Donation. Even a few dollars a month will go a long way. That is the best way to ensure an ongoing impact. One last thing—sharing our project with your friends and family helps us spread the word about our work and continue to grow our community of supporters like you. If you’re willing to share the story of our work with your network, we’d be incredibly grateful. We encourage you to contact Mr. Ahmed Al-Qadhi at alhosam82@gmail.com for further updates and information.
Gratefully yours,
Ahmed Al-Qadhi
