Sponsor a teacher: play & learn financial literacy

In Chile and many other countries, we're accustomed to people—in this case, teachers—being trained every year, but follow-up to see if what they've learned actually reaches the classroom is practically nonexistent.

Seeking to demonstrate that by training teachers at FinanCity, we reach the classroom with a high rate, we decided, on the one hand, to combine in-person and asynchronous training, and on the other, to offer different levels of certification based on the teacher's progress.

In the pilot program conducted with 68 teachers, 78% completed both the in-person and theoretical portions, an excellent result considering that the global completion rate for asynchronous courses did not exceed 5%. But here's the interesting part: 47% of the total included evidence of classroom application and achieved full certification.

That's an excellent number; we're very happy! But what about that 31% who didn't take the step to bring what they've learned into the classroom?

We still have a cultural challenge to face. It doesn't matter if what we've learned doesn't reach our students, and we will remain committed to it, measuring what needs to be measured.

We're working hard to progress and evolve to meet your needs. We're incorporating technology to reach more and more teachers and students, so that we can all learn about personal finance in a simple and entertaining way.

Next year, we'll have new Financial Education content in the Chilean curriculum, and what better way to approach it than with the Game-Based Learning methodology.
