The Kidsave Weekend Miracles Virginia team recently kicked off the new year with one of its first events of the season — a fun and energetic bowling outing that brought together youth, mentors, and supporters for an afternoon of connection and laughter.
Events like this are at the heart of the Weekend Miracles program. They create relaxed, welcoming spaces where older youth in foster care can build meaningful relationships with caring adults in their community. From cheering each other on to celebrating strikes and spares, the bowling lanes quickly became a place where new friendships were forming and existing connections were growing stronger.
The Virginia team did an incredible job organizing the event, making sure everyone felt included and supported. For many of the youth, experiences like this are more than just a fun activity — they are opportunities to feel seen, encouraged, and part of a community that believes in their future.
As one of the first Weekend Miracles events rolling out this year in Virginia, the bowling outing set a wonderful tone for the months ahead. The program continues to create opportunities for mentorship, connection, and ultimately permanency for older youth in foster care.
We’re excited to see what the rest of the year brings for the Virginia team and the amazing youth they serve. Stay tuned for more stories and moments of impact as the Weekend Miracles community continues to grow.
