Every year, Kidsave’s Summer and Winter Miracles programs open the door to life-changing connections between older kids in institutional care overseas and families in the United States. Through short-term hosting, these children and families get the rare opportunity to meet, bond, and discover whether they may be the forever match they’ve been waiting for.
This past summer, families across the country welcomed children into their homes for several weeks—sharing stories, exploring new places together, and building the foundation for lifelong relationships. What starts as a few weeks often becomes the beginning of something much bigger.
Zachary & Ronald a Summer Host Family who adopted their two sons shared,
“After years of fostering, we realized adoption was the next step in building our forever family. We researched Kidsave and discovered their hosting program could help us connect with a child. During the summer, we had the privilege of hosting two boys, and we instantly bonded with them. Now, we are a forever family, and we couldn’t be happier.”
They also expressed the joy of discovering deep connection through everyday moments and new experiences:
“Our summer hosting experience with Kidsave was incredibly positive. The team matched us with two wonderful kids, and we instantly formed a strong bond. Throughout the month of July, we embarked on a series of exciting activities, including visits to Disney, the San Diego Zoo, the beach, and many more. We had the opportunity to explore both cultures, sharing American traditions with the kids and learning about Colombian customs in return. Additionally, attending Kidsave hosting events allowed us to connect with other families and their children, and we have maintained a strong bond with them to this day, forming a small support system.”

These powerful stories highlight what makes the Miracles programs so unique—children aren’t chosen from paperwork. They are seen, heard, and known through real-life connection.
What’s Next: Winter Miracles Arrives December 2025
We’re thrilled to share that eight kids will be arriving for Winter Hosting on December 2nd, staying with host families across California, Virginia, North Carolina, and New Jersey. After a month of bonding, celebration, and holiday traditions, they will depart on December 28th—many returning home with new relationships and newfound hope.
