When the devastating floods of 2025 swept through southwestern Poland, they took more than just property; they threatened the fragile stability of families already facing immense challenges. This is the story of Aneta, a resilient mother from Odrzychowice Klodzkie, and how your generosity turned a desperate situation into a triumph of community spirit.
A Mother’s Quiet Struggle
Aneta is a mother of two. While her son is able-bodied, her daughter lives with a significant disability. For this family, daily life requires meticulous planning. The most critical piece of equipment they needed was a specialized rehabilitation car seat.
This isn't just a luxury; it is a lifeline. Aneta’s daughter attends a special school 40 kilometers away. Without a custom-made, secure seat, the commute was becoming nearly impossible and physically taxing for both mother and child. Aneta had started an online collection, but the donations had stalled, leaving the 12,000 PLN (approx. $3,000) goal feel like an unreachable mountain.
Hope Arrives in November
In November 2025, Sebastian, a dedicated volunteer from the PAY IT FORWARD Foundation, visited the family. He saw firsthand the exhaustion in Aneta’s eyes and the urgency of their situation. Thanks to the funds raised through supporters like you, the Foundation was able to step in and cover the price of the car seat.
The story took an even more emotional turn when the manufacturer heard about the family’s struggle during the floods. Though the custom production was supposed to take a month, the team worked overtime, assembling and delivering the specialized seat in just two weeks.
A Gift for the Future
This is not just a temporary fix. This "intelligent" seat is designed to "grow" with the child, meaning it will serve the family for many years to come. It ensures safety, comfort, and, most importantly, the ability for the daughter to continue her education and therapy.
A Very Special Christmas
The help didn't stop there. During the December holidays, Sebastian returned to Odrzychowice Klodzkie. This time, he wasn't there to discuss logistics or equipment - he was there as a messenger of joy, delivering Christmas care packages to the family.
Because of you, Aneta no longer has to choose between her daughter’s safety and her education. Because of you, a family that lost so much in the floods felt the warmth of a global community.
Thank you for proving that even in the wake of a disaster, no one has to walk the path to recovery alone.
