During this period, fifteen (15) children received medical care. Many of the babies and toddlers caught common seasonal illnesses like colds, cough, and fever. They were treated with antibiotics, nasal sprays, salbutamol, and cough syrup. One toddler had to be confined in the hospital due to a respiratory problem and was given maintenance medicines (Budesonide, Montelukast) to help strengthen immunity.
One baby was also brought to a private hospital’s emergency room due to vomiting and loose bowel movement. Other children had medical check-ups and were given Pedialyte to prevent dehydration, especially the younger ones. As a preventive measure, all the children received flu vaccines, except for two babies below five months old who are not yet eligible.
As of this report, thirty-nine (39) children, aged four (4) months to twelve (12) years old, remain in the residential shelter. All of them continue to receive nutritious food, milk, and multivitamins. Pediasure milk is still being provided to children who are picky eaters or malnourished, while older children have developed stronger immunity against flu.
For education, eighteen (18) out of the thrity-nine (39) children are regularly attending school — from Daycare up to 1st Year High School.
Thank you for your generosity and love, Tahanan ng Pagmamahal continues to provide the children with medical care, healthy food, education, and protection. Your continuous kindness truly makes a difference in their lives.
