As of February 2026, forty-two (42) children are under the full-time residential care of Tahanan ng Pagmamahal Children’s Home Inc., where they receive comprehensive support to ensure their survival, protection, development, and overall well-being. Of these, thirteen (13) are infants aged 0 to 2½ years old, while twenty-nine (29) are toddlers and older children aged 2½ to 13 years old. Most of the children have been classified as abandoned or neglected, while others are identified as foundlings, surrendered children, orphans, or survivors of trafficking. All children reside within the shelter and are provided with consistent care and close supervision.
During the first week of February 2026, two (2) infants were admitted through referrals from the Local Government Unit (LGU). Shortly after admission, a one-month-old baby boy was urgently rushed to the hospital approximately five hours after arrival due to persistent coughing and difficulty breathing observed by the center nurse. He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and diagnosed with high-risk pneumonia and myocarditis. Due to severe respiratory distress caused by mucus accumulation in his lungs, he required intubation to support his breathing. The second infant was likewise hospitalized on March 1, 2026 after presenting similar symptoms and had the same diagnosis. Both infants remain under intensive medical care and close monitoring. The institution continues to provide necessary medical interventions to safeguard the health and lives of the children; however, the substantial cost of hospitalization and treatment has significantly strained the shelter’s limited financial resources.
One (1) older child has been diagnosed with chronic malnutrition exacerbated by feeding difficulties, with resolving Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. To address this condition, the child has been placed on a structured nutritional management program that includes PediaSure milk supplementation and nutrient-dense meals to restore and improve physical health. In addition, several children experienced common illnesses such as fever, colds, and cough due to changing weather conditions and the close living environment within the shelter. These cases are carefully monitored by the center nurse, with consultations and follow-up check-ups arranged as needed to ensure timely and appropriate medical care. To further strengthen immunity and promote overall wellness, the older children are provided with balanced meals, fresh fruits, and daily multivitamin supplements.
Some children are also participating in Occupational Therapy sessions to support their developmental progress, enhance functional skills, and prepare them for daily activities and academic readiness. As part of the institution’s strong commitment to education, eighteen (18) of the forty-two (42) children are currently enrolled in Day Care, Elementary, and High School programs. Tahanan ng Pagmamahal Children’s Home Inc. fully shoulders all educational expenses to ensure uninterrupted access to quality learning opportunities. The children are personally accompanied to and from school by their house parents, who serve as their primary caregivers and guardians. This arrangement ensures their safety while providing consistent emotional support and guidance, fostering a stable and nurturing environment conducive to learning and personal growth. Additionally, dedicated volunteers regularly facilitate enrichment activities and tutorial sessions to strengthen academic performance and build the children’s confidence.
Through its holistic and child-centered approach and the generosity and support of donors like you, the institution remains steadfast in its mission to nurture, protect, and empower every child entrusted to its care. We are truly grateful that are blessed to have this partnership with you in caring for the kids of Tahanan ng Pagmamahal.
