This project provides daily nutritious meals to vulnerable children living in the informal settlements of Manyatta, Kisumu County, Kenya. With just $2,000, we aim to combat malnutrition, enhance school attendance, and bring dignity and hope to 100 children through a month-long feeding program, implemented in partnership with Kind Heart Organization Kenya, our trusted grassroots partner in Kisumu.
Manyatta informal settlement in Kisumu County faces high levels of poverty and food insecurity. Vulnerable children often go to school hungry or drop out entirely due to lack of food. Malnutrition affects their health, cognitive development, and safety, exposing them to child labor and exploitation.
This project will provide 1 nutritious meal daily for 100 children over a 1-month period. Through community kitchens and local partnerships with schools and caregivers, we will ensure consistent feeding, encourage school attendance, and promote children's overall wellbeing.
Regular feeding can reduce malnutrition, improve school retention, and uplift children's dignity. It builds trust in community-based care systems and lays a foundation for scaling long-term food and education programs targeting vulnerable households in Kisumu's slums. Local ownership through our partnership with Kind Heart Organization Kenya ensures sustainability and deep community trust.
