Hi everyone,
I’m sitting here looking at photos from the end of 2025 and I honestly wish I could bottle up the energy and send it straight to your inbox!
Since our last update, we have been absolutely blown away by your kindness. Because of the support we saw over Giving Tuesday, we were able to finish 2025 on such a high. We didn't just meet our goals but we made some lifelong memories for these kids.
A December to Remember You should have seen the faces of our 150 primary schoolers when they met Santa outside! But the magic didn’t stop there. They were treated to a massive lunch hosted and sponsored by the local legends at Horn and Phillips Catering. It was probably the most fancy lunch these children have ever seen, and the atmosphere was just electric. A huge, heartfelt thank you to that team for making it so special.
Meanwhile, over at our pre-school, we decided to do something a little naughty and definitely less healthy for our 45 little ones. We got them all KFC! It was a total "treat yourself" moment, and wow, did those kids leave 2025 with the biggest smiles you've ever seen.
Where we are right now Since the New Year kicked off, we’ve been hard at work making sure no one starts the day hungry. Thanks to the funds raised over the last three months, we managed to purchase breakfast foods for both schools to last us from December all the way through to April 12th.
The honest reality is that we still don't have enough to supply every single student with a second meal at lunch. For now, we’ve had to prioritize the younger children, who are being fed rice and beans. It’s nutritious, but we are working around the clock to raise the funds needed to enhance that menu and get a hot lunch back onto the plates of every single student.
The Big Pivot: No more "Hand to Mouth" This is the part I’m most excited to share. We love the impact we’re making, but we want to be smarter and stronger for the long haul. We’re done playing hand to mouth.
From now on, for every $1 donated, 30¢ will be tucked away into a "Financial Sustainability Pot." Once we hit $2,000, we aren't just buying more bags of grain we are investing in the future. We’ll be launching either a chicken farm or an aquaponics veggie system so this project can eventually stop relying 100% on donations. It might take us a bit of time to get there, but as they say, you’ve got to start somewhere! ;)
How you can double your impact (Mark your calendars!) We have a massive opportunity to fill our empty food shelves and kickstart that sustainability pot. Please save the date for March 17th – March 20th.
GlobalGiving is running their amazing "Little by Little" campaign. During this week, every donation you make up to $50 will be matched at 50%. That means if you give $50, we actually get $75! These funds run out fast, so jumping in early that week makes a world of difference.
Thank you for being part of this family. We’re feeding bellies today, but together, we’re building a future where these kids will never have to wonder where their next meal is coming from.
