Last quarter, climate action at Agatha Amani House continued to take shape through daily practices. With consistent watering schedules and mindful water use, residents practiced conserving water while keeping the farm productive. New intakes were gently introduced to these routines, learning how environmental care can be integrated into everyday life without pressure. These small, repeated actions helped build awareness while supporting emotional healing.
Our composting system remained a key climate action practice this quarter. Kitchen waste, farm residues, animal manure, and plant trimmings were collected and transformed into organic compost used to enrich the soil. Survivors observed how waste could be repurposed into something valuable, improving crop health while reducing environmental impact. By living and practicing these habits daily, survivors are gaining practical environmental knowledge they can carry into their future homes and livelihoods. Climate action at the shelter continues to go hand-in-hand with healing, dignity, and self-reliance.
