A Journey of Hope—Completed Thanks to You
We are happy to share that, thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our GlobalGiving community this project has successfully reached its goals. Your contributions represented nearly 80% of the total funding secured and gave us the decisive momentum we needed to complete the implementation as planned, bringing meaningful transformation to schools, teachers, and children in the State of Zulia—one of the regions in Venezuela most affected by poverty, violence, and social fragmentation.
What We Achieved Together
Thanks to your support:
• 122 teachers received specialized training in the integral pedagogy of our Alive to the World program, helping them rediscover the meaning of their vocation and motivates them to remain in the education sector. Through this training, they gained practical tools to teach values, socio-emotional skills, and healthy decision-making.
• These trained educators reached 1600 children and adolescents, guiding them through stories and real-life scenarios that build self-esteem, empathy, responsibility, and resilience.
• We delivered 800 student books and 63 teacher guides, ensuring that every participant had access to high-quality materials designed to foster both personal and academic growth.
Your gift empowered teachers who often work in extremely difficult conditions—teachers who continue showing up every day because they believe in their students and in the future of Venezuela.
Impact
The effects of this project are already visible:
• Children are demonstrating more respectful behavior and healthier peer relationships.
• Teachers report stronger student engagement, better classroom environments, and more thoughtful decision-making among their students.
• Schools in vulnerable communities are now implementing a structured, evidence-based program that has shown, over 20 years, to reduce violence and teenage pregnancies and motivate young people to remain in school.
This project has not only trained teachers—it has strengthened communities and planted seeds of hope in thousands of young lives.
Looking Forward
The implementation of the program in these schools will continue and will serve as a baseline to measure, over the next three years, changes in behavior and socio-emotional development among students and teachers.
To this end, we will utilize pre-established indicators: the number of adolescent pregnancies, incidents of school violence, dropout rates, activities demonstrating family engagement, future-readiness activities (life projects), and citizenship behaviors.
These indicators will allow us to evaluate the sustained impact of the program and adjust strategies to maximize transformation within these communities. The questionnaire designed for application in the educational units is attached at the end of this report.
We have completed this project, but our mission continues. The resilience and determination we have witnessed in Zulia reaffirm why this work is so vital. We remain committed to expanding values-based education throughout Venezuela and to supporting the teachers who are forming generations capable of breaking the cycle of poverty.

Nos complace compartir que, gracias a la extraordinaria generosidad de nuestra comunidad de GlobalGiving, este proyecto ha alcanzado con éxito sus metas.
Sus contribuciones representaron casi el 80% de los fondos necesarios y nos dieron el impulso decisivo para completar la implementación según lo planificado, llevando una transformación significativa a escuelas, docentes y niños del estado Zulia, una de las regiones de Venezuela más afectadas por la pobreza, la violencia y la fragmentación social.
Nuestros logros
Gracias a su apoyo:
• 122 docentes recibieron formación especializada en la pedagogía integral de nuestro programa Aprendiendo a Querer, ayudándolos a reencontrar el sentido de su labor y motivándolos a permanecer en el sector educativo. A través de esta formación adquirieron herramientas prácticas para enseñar valores, habilidades socioemocionales y toma de decisiones saludables.
• Estos educadores capacitados alcanzaron a 1600 niños y adolescentes, guiándolos a través de historias y escenarios reales que fortalecen la autoestima, la empatía, la responsabilidad y la resiliencia.
• Entregamos 800 libros para estudiantes y 63 guías para docentes, asegurando que cada participante tuviera acceso a materiales de alta calidad diseñados para fomentar tanto el crecimiento personal como el académico.
Su aporte empoderó a docentes que a menudo trabajan en condiciones extremadamente difíciles—maestros que siguen presentes cada día porque creen en sus estudiantes y en el futuro de Venezuela.
Impacto
Los efectos de este proyecto ya son visibles:
• Los niños están demostrando conductas más respetuosas y relaciones más sanas entre sus pares.
• Los docentes reportan mayor participación estudiantil, mejores ambientes de aula y decisiones más reflexivas por parte de sus alumnos.
• Las escuelas en comunidades vulnerables ahora implementan un programa estructurado y basado en evidencia durante 25 años de aplicación a nivel nacional, demostrando en las escuelas en que se ha aplicado la reducción de conductas negativas (violencia, embarazos infanto-juveniles, deserción escolar) y el aumento en la motivación de los jóvenes, enseñándolos a vivir los valores y visualizar un plan de vida que les permita desarrollar su mejor versión
Este proyecto no solo capacitó docentes, sembró esperanza en miles de vidas jóvenes.
Mirando Hacia Adelante
La aplicación del programa en estas escuelas continuará y servirá como base para medir, a lo largo de los próximos tres años, los cambios de conducta y desarrollo socioemocional de los estudiantes y docentes.
Para ello utilizaremos indicadores preestablecidos: número de embarazos infanto-juveniles, incidentes de violencia escolar, índice de deserción escolar, actividades que demuestren vínculo con las familias, actividades de preparación para el futuro (proyecto de vida) y conductas de formación ciudadana.
Estos indicadores nos permitirán evaluar el impacto sostenido del programa y ajustar estrategias para maximizar la transformación en estas comunidades. Al final del informe se anexa el cuestionario diseñado para aplicar en las unidades educativas.
Hemos culminado este proyecto, pero nuestra misión continúa. La resiliencia y determinación que hemos visto en Zulia reafirman por qué este trabajo es tan importante. Seguimos comprometidos con expandir la educación en valores en toda Venezuela y con apoyar a los docentes que están formando generaciones capaces de romper el ciclo de pobreza.
