Dear TOKA Friends,
The last three months have been wonderful, with many achievements, but today we are meeting you with the winners of the Kosova Volunteers of the Year Awards for 2025!
This year, we have launched the second edition of the Kosova Volunteer of the Year Awards to celebrate and elevate the spirit of volunteerism across the country. This national initiative recognizes the extraordinary contributions of young people, diaspora members, businesses, municipalities, public figures, and individuals who have dedicated their lifetimes to service.
In only two years, the Awards have grown into a countrywide movement supported by more than 70 institutions, including the President and Prime Minister of Kosovo, embassies, the University of Prishtina, and numerous international and local organizations.
This year, we received 114 inspiring nominations - each highlighting exemplary acts of service, solidarity, and community leadership. A diverse evaluation committee from civil society, business, and academia carefully reviewed the nominations, ensuring a fair and meaningful selection of awardees.
The Awards Ceremony is held within the national conference “Building a Culture of Volunteering from Individuals to Institutions,” hosted at the University Library’s Amphitheater Hall, at the University of Prishtina. 160 participants attended the Conference, including the representatives of institutions, the private sector, civil society, educational institutions, youth, and the diaspora.
As part of the Conference, we had:
With your continued support, we are building a long-term culture of volunteerism in Kosovo - empowering youth, strengthening communities, and fostering a society where acts of service are recognized and celebrated.
Your contribution helps ensure that these stories of hope and dedication continue to grow. Thank you for helping us shape Kosovo’s next generation of changemakers.
Have a great reading!
TOKA team!
