The Al-Mustafa Eye Program is not just about numbers—it's about changing lives. Over the last three months, we've seen remarkable strides in restoring sight and enhancing the quality of life for countless individuals in our community.

What We Achieved Together

November Highlights:
In November, we opened our doors to 2,265 patients, providing them with personalized eye consultations. Our dedicated team performed 246 cataract surgeries. Each of these surgeries was a step towards reclaiming vision for those who had been living in darkness.

December's Dedication:
Despite the holiday rush, we remained committed. In December, 1,915 consultations took place, with 189 cataract surgeries performed. Patients left our hospital with hope and the gift of clearer sight just in time for the new year!

January Joy:
As we welcomed January, our momentum continued. We conducted 2,262 consultations and 169 surgeries. Every procedure brought smiles and relief to patients, each one a testament to our mission.

The Big Picture

Total Impact (Nov-Jan):

• 6,442 Eye Consultations: Patients received expert advice, opening the door to treatment and prevention.
• 604 Cataract Surgeries: Each successful surgery represents a new beginning—a chance for individuals to see their loved ones' faces, the beauty around them, and the world in full colour.
• 143 Yag-Laser Procedures & 62 Minor Procedures: These vital treatments helped tackle various eye problems, ensuring better overall eye health.

By hosting free eye camps, we reached out to those who might not otherwise have access to care, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their financial situation, has the chance to see clearly.

Al-Mustafa Welfare Society is committed to combating preventable blindness in Pakistan through its Free Cataract Surgeries project. The initiative provides free cataract surgeries and consultations to deserving patients across various camps in the country, as well as in designated hospitals that operate year-round. The project's main aim is to improve the quality of life for individuals suffering from cataract-related vision impairment.

• Al-Mustafa Hospital, Karachi
• Al-Mustafa Hospital, Dhodial, Mansehra
• Khairunnisa Ahmed Eye Hospital, Baldia Town, Karachi
• Al-Mustafa Medical Centre, Malir, Karachi

Consultation and Surgery Services:

Throughout 2024, the project has successfully delivered the following services:

• Total free cataract surgeries performed: 9,980
• Total free consultations provided: 30,000+ patients for various eye-related issues

Consultants conducting free outpatient consultations (OPDs) and performing surgeries for cataract patients, helping to ensure that the facilities are accessible to those in need.
