Free Childcare Service for poor mother in Ethiopia

With the ongoing support from GlobalGiving, we are committed to expanding our services and enhancing our outreach, ensuring that more vulnerable families benefit from our initiatives.

The support from GlobalGiving has been crucial for MHO, the only NGO in Ethiopia providing free daycare and drop-in services for extremely poor mothers. This initiative empowers women to engage in income-generating activities while ensuring their children’s safety and well-being. The project has successfully provided full-day free childcare for 100 children of impoverished mothers, including essential nutritional and healthcare provisions.

GlobalGiving  faicial backing  enabled MHO has established a comprehensive childcare service that not only addresses basic needs but also focuses on early childhood development through playful stimulation and engaging activities. In addition to childcare, we have offered counseling on hygiene, nutrition, and emotional well-being to mothers, helping them navigate their responsibilities more effectively. We are also planning outreach initiatives for mobile childcare to serve vulnerable day laborers, further extending our impact in the community.
