594 Life-Saving Dialysis Sessions; Four Months of Impact!

Al-Mustafa Dialysis Unit continues its mission to provide free dialysis treatment and essential healthcare services to underprivileged patients suffering from kidney-related ailments. This report highlights the progress made from March 2025 to June 2025, covering patient registrations, dialysis sessions, erythropoietin injections, and other medical services provided.

Key Achievements (March – June 2025)

Patient Registration & Care

New Registrations:

  • March 2025: 20
  • April 2025: 20
  • May 2025: 16
  • June 2025: 18

Dialysis Sessions Conducted

  • March 2025: 152
  • April 2025: 148
  • May 2025: 155
  • June 2025:139
  • Total: 594

Erythropoietin Injections Administered

  • March 2025: 65
  • April 2025: 57
  • May 2025: 46
  • June 2025: 49 
  • Total: 217

Additional Medical Services Provided

At Al-Mustafa, most of our patients belong to extremely poor economic backgrounds, so we do not just provide free Dialysis services to our patients; rather, we also take care of their other illnesses. A total of 33 patients received supplementary medical support, multiple times during the past quarter, including:

  • Blood Bank Services: 17 Patients
  • Pharmacy Services: 412 Times
  • Lab Investigations/Services: 56 Patients

Impact & Challenges

Impact:

  • Provided 594 life-saving dialysis sessions over four months.
  • Administered 217 erythropoietin injections to manage anaemia in dialysis patients.
  • Ensured medicines, lab tests, and consultations for 33 patients.

Challenges:

  • Fluctuations in patient numbers due to seasonal health conditions.
  • Need for continuous funding to sustain free treatments.

Future Goals

  • Increase outreach to register more underprivileged patients.
  • Maintain consistent dialysis sessions and medication supply.
  • Expand partnerships for long-term sustainability.
