Your support is doing more than just providing aid; it is changing the conversation about what it means to grow up as a girl in Haiti. By addressing the root causes of violence and inequality, you are helping create a world where every girl can lead with dignity.
This period marked an exciting new chapter. After finishing our work in Lamontay and Bainet, we have officially planted roots in Lavanno. This new site isn’t just a project location—it’s a "learning hub" where we can test the best ways to protect girls and then show other organizations how to do the same.
Taking Root in New Communities
Before we start any program, we listen. We spent the last three months meeting with local leaders, parents, and even media representatives to make sure the community is ready to lead this change themselves.
"Kore Tifi" (Power to Girls): More Than Just a Club
Our Kore Tifi program is the heart of what we do. It brings girls aged 10–19 together to build friendships and leadership skills. They offer safe spaces in the community to build solidarity and leadership skills.
Partnering with Local Schools
A school should be the safest place in a girl's life. We have officially partnered with the Modern School of Lavanno, the largest in the area.
By training all 34 teachers and staff members, we are using a "whole school" approach that deepens the impact. Instead of just talking to the students, we are ensuring that every adult the girls encounter—from the principal to the support staff—is trained to recognize and prevent violence and keep girls in school.
Sharing the Blueprint
We believe that to change Haiti, we have to share what we know. Rethinking Power is more than a local project; it is part of a national movement. This quarter, we provided mentorship to a partner organization, Fondasyon COFHED Haiti, in the south. By teaching them our "Power to Girls" methods, your impact is reaching more communities.
Voices from the Field
"For a long time, we have seen our girls leaving school because of early pregnancies or because they don't see a future here. When the team explained their approach, I realized this is the first time someone is asking how to make the girls stronger, rather than just giving them a bag of rice. We are ready to work." — Local Community Leader, Lavanno
What Your Support Will Do Next
Thank you for standing with the girls of Haiti. We are deeply grateful for your continued support of the local community leaders who are building a Haiti where power is shared equally, and every girl is empowered to lead.
