Over the past six months, the Helen Keller School for the Integral Development of the Visually Impaired A.C., located in Guadalajara, has continued to provide specialized education to children and young people with visual impairments and additional disabilities. Daily school life has remained active and consistent, with in-person classes, Braille instruction, sensory stimulation activities, daily living skills training, and emotional support. However, regular access to these learning opportunities still depends largely on students being able to travel safely from their homes to the school.
School transportation remains a critical need for the school community. Many students live far from campus and require specialized support to commute safely. In recent months, rising fuel costs have made it increasingly challenging to keep transportation routes running consistently. Without sufficient fuel, there is a real risk of interrupted attendance, which directly affects students’ learning progress, emotional well-being, and overall stability.
