By Esli Aremi | Freedom for Thousands.
Dear friend and collaborator,
During the months of June, July, and August 2025, various activities were carried out focused on the prevention of child sexual abuse, the formation of safe communities, and raising awareness about human trafficking. These actions were aimed at churches, teenagers, and diverse community sectors, with an educational and preventive approach, using adapted methodologies and specialized resources across different states of the country. Below, we share a summary of each activity:
June 2025
Training Sessions for Churches
Training sessions were held for local churches with the aim of raising awareness and preparing their members to prevent child sexual abuse. The training included the use of specialized educational materials, providing tools to implement prevention workshops for children and adolescents in their communities.
Workshop for the Deaf Community
A workshop on the prevention of online grooming and sexting was conducted, specifically adapted for the deaf community, in the context of a youth camp held in the municipality of Ensenada, Baja California. The activity incorporated visual materials and sign language interpretation, promoting inclusion and active participation of people with hearing disabilities.
Prevention Day with Teenagers
At a youth care center in the city of Tijuana, a prevention day was held using tools such as the “traffic light” system and educational webinars aimed at children and adolescents. The activity aimed to help recognize warning signs and promote safe environments.
July 2025
School Training on Prevention Topics
A training session was conducted for students at a missionary school, addressing topics related to risk factors, early detection, and community intervention strategies.
Live Broadcast – Stigmatization and Reintegration
A live broadcast was held via virtual platforms on the topic of “Stigmatization and Reintegration Challenges,” with the goal of raising awareness about the difficulties victims of abuse and trafficking face in their recovery and social reintegration processes.
Virtual Training for Churches in Southeastern Mexico
A virtual training session was conducted for various churches in southeastern Mexico, focusing on the prevention of child sexual abuse and the fight against human trafficking. The training provided tools for identifying risks, supporting victims, and developing preventive activities in their communities.
August 2025
During the month of August, follow-up support was provided for previous training sessions, assisting churches in the implementation of community prevention workshops. These actions continued using adapted educational materials, thereby strengthening local efforts to protect children and adolescents.
The activities carried out during this period reflect a strong commitment to the protection of children and adolescents through the training of community leaders, the use of specialized educational tools, and the promotion of active participation from various social sectors. The preventive and inclusive approach has expanded the impact and strengthened community networks for prevention and protection against child sexual abuse and human trafficking. For this reason, we thank you once again for trusting in this project that seeks to bring Freedom to Thousands.
