Stand with Women & Girls This November 25th

Join FAHM for 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence

Every year on November 25, the world unites to honor the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. This day also launches the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (Nov 25–Dec 10), a global campaign culminating on Human Rights Day.

The theme for 2025 is urgent and clear:
“There is #NoExcuse for violence against women and girls.”

 The reality is devastating:

  • Nearly 1 in 3 women will experience violence in her lifetime.

  • 1 in 4 adolescent girls experiences abuse by her partner.

  • In 2023, at least 51,100 women were killed by partners or family members—that’s a woman every 10 minutes.

This crisis affects every corner of the globe, from homes and schools to workplaces and online spaces. Violence against women and girls remains one of the most widespread and severe human rights violations. It can—and must—be prevented.

The call for accountability and action is stronger than ever. Together, we can help break the cycle of violence.

FAHM’s Commitment: Standing Against GBV in Haiti

With your support, FAHM is equipping Haitian midwives and communities to challenge gender-based violence and create safer, healthier lives. Our work reaches:

  • Midwifery students and midwives trained to identify, respond to, and refer survivors with trauma-informed, survivor-centered care.

  • Adolescent girls and young women engaged in midwife-led youth groups on GBV prevention, empowerment, and reproductive health.

  • Mothers and caregivers through community-based “Mother’s Clubs,” where they gain GBV education, psychosocial support, and early detection tools.

  • Survivors of violence who receive care through safe spaces and mental health referrals.

  • The broader Haitian community and diaspora via media outreach to challenge stigma, shift harmful norms, and break the silence around GBV.

In Haiti, where women and girls face heightened risks due to poverty, early pregnancy, geographic isolation, and limited mental health services, this work is life-saving. Your donations ensure they are not only informed, but also supported to heal, access care, and rebuild their lives with dignity and resilience.

Take Action With Us

From November 25 to December 10, let’s “Orange the World”—a symbol of hope and a brighter future free from violence.

Join FAHM in the 16 Days of Activism.
Together, we can end gender-based violence and uphold the rights of women and girls everywhere.
