Introduction
In the heart of a fishing community in Ghana where the children arrive to an empty classroom with no resources to learn. This is the reality, the schools are under funded and teachers often don't turn up even though the students do, there is no or little learning resources available and limited money to pay teaching staff in the rural areas of Ghana. Our project is working to help fund the local schools and build sustainable income generation for them to succeed and teach the children..
Report
The vision began with a passionate headteacher responsible for a building (school) that has no power, no doors or windows. With limited stationery and furniture and staff underpaid they don't show up, it is a real battle to keep a school going every day but the students still arrive every day and sit and wait. The head is passionate but needs help to turn things around and realize his dream of a better future for these children. We have managed to raise $100 but there is a very long way to go to reach our target of $15000!
