We've said it before ad we'll say it again..
In Africa, vision impairment is a major but often overlooked barrier to children's education and development. Many children struggle in school simply because they cannot see properly. Poor vision affects reading, learning, and classroom participation, increasing dropout rates and limiting future opportunities.
Most childhood vision issues in Africa, are treatable. However, access to eye care is limited due to high costs, long distances to clinics, and a shortage of trained professionals. In some areas, there is only one pediatric eye care center for every 30 million children.
By addressing these issues early, we give children the chance to succeed in school, improve their confidence, and build independence. Vision care helps reduce inequality and allows children to fully participate in society.
Clear sight leads to brighter futures - for each child and for Africa as a whole.
