Dear Donors,
Thank you for your generous support of our 'Girls in Tech' program. With your help, students recently participated in sessions on online privacy and staying safe on the internet, followed by an interactive charades activity that reinforced learning in a fun way. We also delivered media literacy lessons on identifying credible news and spotting different types of fake news, and students tested their understanding with a lively Kahoot! quiz and reinforced teamwork through a game of Pictionary. These activities were made engaging and effective thanks to a growing team of new volunteer teachers who bring energy and practical skills to every session.
Girls are now learning coding and essential software tools through hands-on workshops and project-based mentorship. This initiative is supported by YMW’s predominantly female leadership—85% of our interns are women—which strengthens role modeling and creates a welcoming environment for girls pursuing tech skills. The combination of digital-safety education, media literacy, and technical training is building critical thinking, digital competence, and confidence among participants.
YouMeWe (YMW) remains affiliated with 13 institutionalized homes across Japan, and your support is directly enabling us to scale these programs, recruit and train more volunteer teachers, and expand the Girls in Tech curriculum.
Something powerful is coming.
March 17–20, small gifts will create big change through @globalgiving’s #LittlebyLittle campaign.
When you give up to $50, your donation will be matched 50% (while funds last) — meaning your support goes even further for supporting children’s education.
Mark your calendars and get ready to make your impact count.
Thank you for making these opportunities possible and for investing in the next generation of digitally literate, technically capable young women.
With gratitude,
YouMeWe Team
