Give education to 60 vulnerable Roma children

This past quarter has been a season of both celebration and new beginnings. Twenty preschool-aged children who were part of our program took their first big step into formal education. In September, they started primary school—confident, prepared, and hopeful. We are humbled to have been part of this important chapter in their lives, helping them take the first steps toward a brighter future.

Over the summer, our team worked tirelessly to reach more children in need. We identified a new group of 20 school age children—boys and girls growing up in families with little or no income, facing the daily challenges of poverty. In September, these children walked into our Educational Center for the very first time. For many, it was their first safe learning space, their first structured support with warm daily meal as well.

Today, the Center is alive with their laughter, curiosity, and determination. Every day, they receive psycho-social and educational support that nurtures both their learning and their emotional well-being. Their parents, too, feel relief and joy knowing their children are safe, cared for, and supported.

Still, the need is greater than what we can currently provide. With your continued support, we hope to welcome even more children into the program in the coming months. Each additional child means one more chance for a brighter, safer, and more hopeful future.

Dear Supporters,

Over the past four months, we’ve had the joy and privilege of working with a group of 20 five-year-old children enrolled in our preschool program at the Educational Center NADEZ. These children attend the program five days a week, for four hours each day, where they are immersed in a nurturing and stimulating environment.

Our curriculum follows the standards of the National Program for Early Childhood Development and integrates STEM principles. Through this approach, children are strengthening their motor skills, enhancing their language and cognitive abilities, and developing healthy hygiene and work habits. Importantly, they are also learning to socialize and build friendships through play.

We are proud to share that, after nine months in the program, the children have made significant progress in understanding and speaking the Macedonian language—an essential milestone for their successful transition to elementary school. We also supported their parents through the school enrollment process, which takes place each May. As a result, all 20 children have been successfully enrolled and will begin elementary school this September!

In parallel with the children’s development, we’ve also been working closely with their parents. We conducted workshops focused on “Employment Opportunities, CV and Motivation Letter Writing, and Interview Preparation” as well as “Online Communication, Internet Use, and Cybersecurity.” A total of 20 mothers participated in these sessions, held in small groups. These valuable skills will help them pursue employment opportunities and move toward greater economic independence.

Additionally, we continue to provide daily individual advisory support to parents on topics such as parenting, accessing social and child protection services, and job opportunities.

Every day, the children receive free nutritious snacks and fresh fruit at the Center, ensuring they stay healthy and energized.
