Siramá in El Salvador provides vocational training and personalised mentoring for women, helping them develop skills for employment in areas such as cookery, beauty and sewing. Alongside these practical skills, the programme supports women to grow in confidence, entrepreneurship and economic independence.
We would like to share Lucia's story with you.
When Lucia began her course, she already had a clear idea of what she wanted for her future. “From the very beginning of my course at Siramá, I had a clear dream: to grow my own small business and work independently.”
As she progressed through her training, Lucia quickly began applying what she was learning. “I started using my skills to generate income while still studying. Being able to contribute to my household made me proud and gave me confidence to keep going.” This early success encouraged her and helped her realise that her dream was possible.
With each new skill she gains, Lucia feels even more motivated. “The more I learn, the stronger my dreams grow. I still see myself building my own enterprise, but now I have more knowledge and experience to make it a reality.”
For Lucia, this opportunity has been transformative. “This opportunity is something I am taking advantage of in the best way possible. I will always be grateful for the chance to build a more stable future for myself and my family.”
