A very busy few months in Honduras. As well as traditional dancing to celebrate Independence Day and Day of the Child our Phoenix College students have been busy. As part of their course we have integrated a lot of community service programs.
Also, the students have to give talks on nutrition, sex education, health and the benefits of studying past primary school to the rural schools, often one to two hours on foot. The benefits of having local members of the community giving these talks are obvious, and it is excellent to give the experience to our students of talking to audiences and different communities.
We continue with our program of teachers' assistants in the primary school (with students from our Phoenix College) whom we pay and also cover their future Univiersity costs, which they will start next year.
This year’s Annual Appeal is dedicated to our daily food and fruit program with the aim to provide now and sustainably in the future: how? For every $25 donated to this page one child will receive the daily food and fruit we provide each year and we will also plant a fruit tree which will continue giving in the future. Many thanks for your donations in advance and together we can sustain daily food for the children.
