Mandela Day, officially Nelson Mandela International Day, is celebrated annually on July 18th, Nelson Mandela's birthday, to honor his legacy and contributions to the fight for freedom, justice, and equality. It's a global call to action, encouraging individuals to dedicate 67 minutes of their time to serve others and make a positive impact on their communities
The HOPE Africa team of volunteers sorted and packed donated clothes, blankets, monetary donations were used to purchase food items. Volunteers helped select food items to be purchased with donated funds, focusing on nutritional value and shelf life. Each hamper typically includes essential clothing items (e.g., warm clothing, undergarments), blankets or warm bedding and food items (e.g., non-perishable goods, fresh produce). The prepared hampers were distributed to individuals and families in need, providing essential support and comfort in the Wallacedene community in Cape Town, South Africa.
The campaign fostered community spirit, with volunteers and donors coming together to support a common cause. We thank you for your contributions which allowed us to impact the community on this day.
God bless.
