Dear Friends.
With the start of summer, our programming at Delia's Center has shifted with more time for hands-on learning experiences including everyone's favorite - our Kid's in the Kitchen program. The children just love to spend time in our kitchen with Coca and it is the perfect way to provide instruction on good nutrition and basic kitchen skills. It is all part of our focus on building life skills to lay the foundation for a more independent future. We thought you would love to see photos from a little over a week ago when some of the kids joined Coca in making a sweet, healthy treats with fresh, local fruits and homemade whipped cream.
In the Spring, I was thrilled to participate in mealtime once again when I spent nearly two weeks with our special kids. Our CEO, Laura Larkin, and one of our US Board Members, Kyle Arney, joined in the fun and we are always so pleased with Coca's nutritious menu. More and more our kids are coming to us from the villages. The level of poverty is so high and the meal you provide makes a huge difference !!
