Eating Smart Helps us Boost our Academic Success!
![]()
Buna diminieata friends,
It's been a little over a month since I returned from Barlad, along with our CEO, Laura Larkin. As always, I was in a hurry to arrive at Delia's Center and had difficulty leaving when the time came to return to the U.S.
The start of fall is usually bittersweet for me as this time of year children all over the world are back to school. It's a time of great anticipation; we can feel the promise of the future. Yet I know that many of our special kids don't yet have the opportunity to receive a proper education here in northeastern, Romania and ALL of them need good nutritious food to help improve their academic success.
It might seem the promise of the future isn't for them. But that wouldn't be correct. With your help, we have been able to serve our kids with healthy lunches, nutritious snacks and fresh-squeezed juices. Our kids with autism, sensory difficulties and specific medical conditions require that careful attention is paid to their food choices. For all of our children we know that certain food improve their energy and concentration, boost brain development and are a big plus for mood and behavior. We know that tummies filled with nutrition leads to improved memory and overall cognitive function. You can be sure that your support does have an impact by improving the lives of our special kids now and sets the stage for a better future.
Our Chef/Wellness Director, Coca, is an invaluable ingredient to the success of our nutrition program. We love that she is not only serving up delicious food but educating the kids on proper nutrition. AND,, of course, her Kids in the Kitchen cooking activities will always be a favorite activitiy.
Multumesc fromos again for your kindness and support.
With Gratitude,
Lauren
