HART Shelter Improvements

By Kate Robey | Charitable Trust Operations Manager

A new shelter
A new shelter

Dear Supporter,

As you know the Himalayan Animal Rescue Trust is an organisation that is  “striving to create a place where animals are respected and cared for within their own communities, and disease and distress are things of the past.”  Recently we provided funding for them to make improvements to their facilities.

One of the tasks that they do is performing surgeries at the facility, however, the shelter was really limited. This meant that dogs were often waiting in the hot sun before or after surgery, which is less than ideal. Funds were used to build a shelter to protect the animals from both rain and sun and provide them with a little more comfort. The vehicle used by the team at HART is an essential part of their programme so being able to park the vehicle under protection at night is an added bonus of the shelter.

Another benefit of the shelter will be for the HART vehicle! The van used by the team at HART is an essential part of their programme, so being able to park the vehicle under protection at night is an added bonus of the shelter.

So it will be used day and night!

Another amazing thing about the construction of this shelter was the work that it provided. At the moment there are extensive fuel and gas shortages in Nepal and these are affecting trades and businesses really badly. The building of this shelter provided work for locals and income for the local businesses where the materials were purchased.

Thank you for your generous donations that have made all of this possible.

With Gratitude,

GVI Nepal
