Help Fund a School to Access Clean Water in Kenya

Dear Supporter,

We have seen some amazing successes on this project thanks to your support and that of MWH Global who have been supporting the GVI Fiji team. The project team have been continuing the work in the communities of the Northern Yasawas identified during a project assessment as being the most vulnerable to water shortages. The team worked systematically to deliver water security infrastructure and improvements to the key communities identified in the initial assessment while also gathering further data on the issues and challenges the general region was facing during the peak dry season.

Phase One

• 26,500 Litres in Capacity Added through installation of 5 new RWH systems.
• 80,000 Litres of Water Capacity made accessible through existing infrastructure repairs
• 400 villagers across 3 islands and 4 communities Impacted by improvements

Phase Two

• 31,200 Litres in Capacity Added through installation of 5 new RWH systems
• 20,000 Litres of water capacity was restored through repairs to non functional systems
• 11 existing systems received collection efficiency improvements adding an estimated capcity increase of around 7,000 litres

Cumulative Impact to date

• 57700 Litres of new capacity added through installation of new Rainwater harvesting systems.
• Approximately 107,000 litres of water capacity added through effiecy improvements and damage system repair
