Thank you for your generous support of the GlobalGiving Community Aid Fund. With your gift, you’ve joined more than 1,200 other donors in providing flexible funding this year to nearly 50 vetted nonprofit organizations in more than two dozen countries most impacted by drastic foreign aid cuts.

Despite significant losses in funding this year, local organizations and changemakers continue to push forward. They are tapping into deep local knowledge, trusted relationships, and the ability to act quickly. Across our nonprofit partner network in 170 countries, we are seeing them stretch limited budgets, adapt programs in real time, and make difficult trade-offs to ensure essential services continue. They are not waiting for conditions to stabilize; they are responding now. They are reaching displaced families, maintaining access to food, healthcare, education, and livelihoods, and protecting hard-won progress in their communities.

With your support, GlobalGiving is proud to stand alongside these changemakers. Here are a few examples of what your donation has made possible this year:

  • Project Concern Zambia serves women and girls across Zambia who have been impacted by the extreme cuts to HIV treatment and prevention programs. Drawing on more than 20 years of experience, the organization focuses on communities with the highest HIV rates. Its community case workers and partner schools help identify young mothers at the highest risk of contracting HIV and leaving school and then steps in to cover tuition and link them with essential social protection services.

  • Bamyan Foundation supports Hazara women and girls in Afghanistan, a community facing systematic persecution, targeted violence, and mass killings. Through a trusted network of underground schools and locally-led education centers in the country, the organization equips female educators and girls with the materials and scholarships they need to continue learning safely despite the hostility of the outside world.
  • Economic Stimulus Projects for Work and Action (ESPWA)works tirelessly across Haiti to support the poorest families. Amid a dangerous security situation and the devastating effects of Hurricane Melissa, ESPWA partners with the Haiti Community Foundation to lead local food production programs and other local projects identified by the community members. For example, the organization helped establish a cooperative community savings program that gives families money when they need it most.

The impact of the GlobalGiving Community Aid Fund is powered by generosity. It is powered by a dedicated group of former USAID employees and their community of supporters responding creatively to the acute crisis caused by the loss of many HIV prevention and treatment programs. It is powered by a matching campaign driven by a partnership between GlobalGiving and the Tripadvisor Foundation. And it is powered by your personal choice to click donate.

Your gift is also a message of solidarity. As one of our nonprofit partners shared:

“For a small organization like ours, donor funding was truly a lifeline. With foreign aid cuts, that lifeline has been sharply reduced, making it very difficult to sustain our work and support our community during a time of great need. The support of the GlobalGiving community has been one of the few sources keeping us going. Thank you."

GlobalGiving is firmly committed to growing the impact of the Community Aid Fund in 2026. We will continue to be as transparent as possible by sending regular updates to your email inbox.

With immense gratitude and hope,

Chase Williams + the GlobalGiving team
