From trash dump to classrooms, transform 200 lives

Here at Grace Honduras, the past few months have been filled with hope, hard work, and renewed purpose.

Thanks to the support of our donors and allies, we’ve continued providing daily meals, education, medical checkups, and emotional support to over 150 children living in extreme poverty near the San Pedro Sula Municipal Landfill. Many of these children once spent their days working alongside their families in waste collection, but today they sit in classrooms, read books, laugh, and dream.

Some recent highlights include:

A generous donation of educational books and supplies from volunteers, including storybooks, 3D books, and music books for all ages.

Confirmation of €7,500 in funding to overhaul our school’s electrical system and fix the damaged roof, thanks to one of our partners in Germany.

A beautiful school event to celebrate “Día del Indio Lempira,” where students learned about national identity through music, games, and traditional food.

Measurable improvements in student health and academic performance, including a noticeable increase in weight, height, attention span, and memory among children who were previously malnourished.

Every meal served, every smile restored, and every child who enters a classroom instead of a landfill is a testament to what we can do together.

As the school year moves forward, we’re thrilled to share a few beautiful updates from our community.

Thanks to your ongoing support, every child at Grace is now attending school with a backpack full of supplies, we have a computer mini lab with six laptop with internet access, and a warm meal every single day. And this care doesn’t stop at our students — we’re also feeding children from the nearby landfill who aren’t yet in school, because every child deserves nourishment, dignity, and love.

We also received a generous donation of books for our little readers, sparking curiosity and imagination in hearts that once knew only survival. Next week, our kids will be taking their midterm exams — a big milestone for many who never dreamed they’d one day sit in a classroom.

None of this would be possible without you.
