Dear Friends,
Today we want to share a story made of warm hands, early mornings, and hearts full of hope. Our Grandmothers Project is more than bread—it is about dignity, resilience, and the power of believing that it is never too late to dream.
Every day, our grandmothers wake up ready to work, to learn, and to support their families with love and courage. With your support, they are baking fresh bread for families in Cuenca, filling homes with warmth, comfort, and the beautiful smell of homemade bread. Each loaf carries their stories, their effort, and their determination to move forward.
Right now, we are waiting with great hope for the assignment of two market stalls that will allow our grandmothers to sell more bread and reach more families. The municipality is processing this support to help strengthen the project and give our grandmothers a stable space to share their work with the community. For them, these stalls mean visibility, opportunity, and the pride of standing behind what they have created with their own hands.
Soon, our grandmothers will also begin a new learning journey. They will receive training to make sourdough bread and pies, opening the door to new flavors, new customers, and new dreams. Every new recipe is a new chance to grow, to believe in themselves, and to build a better future for their families.
We continue looking for kind hearts who want to support this dream by buying our bread, sharing our story, and walking alongside us. Every purchase helps put food on a table, light in a home, and hope in a heart.
This project exists because of you. Every time we turn on the oven, we think of the hands that made this possible—your hands. You are helping us turn fear into courage, silence into voices, and dreams into reality.
Together, we are not just baking bread.
We are baking dignity.
We are baking hope.
We are baking a future.
Thank you for believing in our grandmothers, for loving them from afar, and for helping us build a brighter world—one loaf, one dream, one heart at a time.
With all our gratitude,
The Hearts of Gold Team
