The plan is to build a one-stop database to promote and signpost dementia services, in association with Halstead Town Council and Essex County Council. The project is to firstly determine what dementia services are currently available within Halstead UK and the surrounding areas and then to create a database . The aim is to use Halstead UK as a pilot before roll-out to other towns/parishes across Essex UK, using the resources of circa 60 rotary clubs in the Essex & Herts Rotary Networks.
Halstead Town Council identified a need to strengthen the coordination between stakeholders that provide services within Halstead, during a meeting that included all the stakeholders. They presented their individual activities and it became clear that many activities are taking place but could have a greater impact if there was coordination.
The Halstead and surrounding areas Online Database will provide a central hub where individuals can find essential services in a timely way. This project will support people living with dementia, their carers and service providers by linking the local services through simple navigation with clear categories and search filters.
In the long term this facility will enhance the coordination of essential dementia services.
