You may remember reading about Taller de Vida (TdV) teens Mónica and Laura who participated in the Colombia Truth Commission last year thanks to your support. To ensure even more kids’ stories are told in important spaces like the Truth Commission, our grassroots partner TdV uses innovative art therapy methods.
Through creative mediums like videos, TdV documents young survivors’ stories of violence. They submit these narratives to the Truth Commission, amplifying the voices of young Afro-Colombian and Indigenous girls and ensuring their experiences of war and conflict are widely heard. Growing up during the decades-long Colombian war, this kind of psychosocial support is vital to young people’s healing. Thank you for making this life-changing work possible and helping countless children and their communities heal by recognizing and uplifting their truth.
