Bumi Sehat's outreach program brings life-saving cancer awareness directly to Bali's villages. Our midwives and nurses provide culturally sensitive talks, demonstrations, and easy-to-read materials on breast and cervical cancer risks, prevention, and screening. By replacing stigma with trust, we empower women to seek early detection and "See and Treat" care for pre-cancerous cells at our clinic-saving lives, reducing suffering, and protecting families across the island.
Cervical and breast cancer remain leading causes of death for women in Bali, yet most are diagnosed too late for effective treatment. Many women are unaware of their risks, how to check themselves, or where to access affordable screening. Cultural stigma, fear, and misinformation keep them from seeking help early, leaving those at risk unaware of Bumi Sehat's by-donation, life-saving services until symptoms become severe and options are limited and expensive.
Bumi Sehat delivers cancer awareness talks in Bali villages, meeting women where they feel safe-community halls and markets. Trained midwives and nurses provide culturally sensitive talks, demonstrations, and easy-to-understand materials on the importance of regular screening. Women learn breast self-exam and are encouraged to come for "See and Treat" cervical cancer screening & treatment at our clinic. We inspire trust and give women the confidence to take life-saving action early.
With greater awareness and trust, more women will seek reproductive health screening early when treatment is most effective and survival rates are higher. Sustained outreach will normalize preventive checks, reduce stigma, and connect 1,000 women each year with potentially life-saving care. Building on Bumi Sehat's success-where 1 in 4 women had potential cervical cancer cells treated-this program will help prevent advanced cancer, save lives and protect the reproductive health of women in Bali.
