Project Report | Feb 28, 2026
Continuing care amidst the challenges

By Ana Martin Ortiz | Project Manager

Dear supporters,  (ESPAÑOL ABAJO)

It is a privilege to write to you again and report on the services we are providing. The situation in the country continues to worsen as more and more Haitians and people of Haitian descent are either deported or bribed when they go to seek care in public hospitals. Just this Wednesday, we received a call for help from a 15 year old that had just given birth and was being taken from the hospital to be deported.

Thanks to your support, COIN continues to be a safe place for everyone to receive care. From October to February, 25 pediatric consultations, 7 internal medicine consultations and 20 general medicine consultations were provided. We also provided antenatal care to 6 women and family planning services to 3.

For HIV prevention, we provided post-exposure prophylaxis to 2 people and pre-exposure prophylaxis to 4.

COIN also provides services to 544 people living with HIV, funded through grants, not donations.  To our huge concern, our biggest grant is at risk of being cut, which would leave us unable to continue serving as many people. If you know anyone that might be interested in supporting our services, please share the link to our project with them.

Together we can make a huge difference in the lives of many people,

A big big thank you from all the COIN team!

Estimados colaboradores:
