Florence, a 58-year-old from Alor Town in Idemili South LGA, Anambra State, is managing recurrent right breast cancer after previous treatment in 2022. Blessing, a 47-year-old from Ifito-Ogwari in Ayamelum LGA, has a histological diagnosis of invasive ductal carcinoma of the left breast post-mastectomy and has completed chemotherapy. She is now scheduled for radiotherapy and a hormonal regimen. Nkoli, a 43-year-old widow from Nza Ozubulu in Ekwusigo LGA, is a mother of three and is currently preparing for chemotherapy and radiotherapy for her breast cancer.
These women have shown incredible resilience in their fight against breast cancer, demonstrating unwavering strength throughout their journeys. The urgent need for financial support for treatments highlights the significant obstacles they are overcoming.
Florence, Blessing, and Nkoli reached out to ASA Women USA, Inc. Cancer Coalition for assistance, underscoring the vital role organizations play in offering help during challenging times. ASA Women USA’s impactful support not only benefits these women but also reflects a broader commitment to enhancing healthcare access and addressing other health issues in Anambra State, Nigeria, with a focus on aiding women in need.
The Legacy Project, which focuses on healthcare access for indigent women with cancer in Nigeria, and the establishment of Hope Cancer Center in Anambra State stand as beacons of hope, providing care and aid to those navigating similar paths toward recovery.
Let’s unite in the fight against cancer and collectively make a positive impact in these lives!
