The MedAcross Mobile Clinic project continues to provide free healthcare to people living in remote and hard-to-reach villages in southern Myanmar, where access to medical services remains extremely limited. Through a network of four active mobile clinics, our medical teams are able to reach communities that would otherwise be left without any form of care.
Thanks to the commitment of a dedicated team composed of doctors, nurses, and local health workers, supported by basic diagnostic equipment and remote consultations with international specialists, we delivered essential healthcare services to 94 patients during the reporting period. For many of them, this represented their first medical visit ever.
A significant focus of our work remains maternal health. During recent activities, our teams carried out 86 prenatal visits, 57 of which were for new patients, highlighting the importance of mobile clinics in reaching women who had never previously accessed antenatal care. In parallel, we distributed 69 mother and newborn kits and 51 safe delivery kits, providing crucial support to pregnant women and new mothers during a particularly vulnerable time.
In recent months, following the earthquake that struck the Mandalay region, the project expanded its geographical scope to include affected areas. Additional mobile clinics were deployed to respond to the urgent needs of communities left without medical assistance, while continuing regular healthcare and prevention activities in the Kawthaung district. This flexibility has strengthened our capacity to respond rapidly to emergencies without interrupting ongoing services.
The project continues to move forward with very positive results and is steadily growing, also thanks to strong collaboration with local authorities and community leaders. None of this would be possible without the generosity of our donors, whose support allows us to bring free, life-saving medical care to those who need it most.
