After the 2021 coup and a 2025 earthquake, access to healthcare in Myanmar has collapsed. MedAcross provides free medical care to isolated communities in southern Myanmar and Burmese migrants in Thailand through mobile clinics, offering checkups, medicines, and maternal care while training local volunteers to build stronger, healthier communities.
Political instability and conflict have left Myanmar's healthcare system in crisis. Hospitals are damaged or abandoned, and medicines are scarce. Millions have fled to Thailand, where migrants live in poverty and without legal documents, excluded from healthcare. Women and children are most at risk, facing unassisted births and untreated diseases every day.
With donor support, MedAcross provides free healthcare through cross-border mobile clinics in southern Myanmar and Thailand. Medical teams offer checkups, vaccinations, and essential medicines while training local volunteers to ensure ongoing care. This approach delivers life-saving aid and strengthens community resilience.
The project builds a sustainable, community-based health system that overcomes conflict and borders. By training volunteers and promoting prevention, it empowers people to care for their own communities, reduces mortality, and fosters a lasting culture of solidarity and health for all.
