We are pleased to share an update on our ongoing Healthy Mothers Program, which continues to have a positive impact on the lives of 75 women across five community groups. Our program combines weekly educational sessions on nutrition, wellness, and stress management with physical activity classes. These efforts are further supported through the monthly distribution of essential food and hygiene items.
Program Activities
1. Weekly Educational Sessions
Each group meets once a week for structured, interactive classes focused on:
Nutrition: Basics of a balanced diet, local and affordable sources of nutrients, meal planning, and food safety.
Wellness: Holistic health practices, sleep hygiene, and emotional well-being.
Stress Management: Techniques including mindfulness, breathing exercises, and peer support.
These sessions are led by trained local educators from the community and incorporate culturally relevant examples to enhance engagement and applicability.
2. Weekly Physical Activity Classes
To complement mental and nutritional health, each group participates in weekly exercise sessions tailored to their comfort level. Activities include:
Light aerobic exercises
Stretching and mobility routines
Group movement games to encourage bonding and fun
These classes not only promote physical well-being but also build a sense of community and empowerment.
Monthly Support Packages
Each woman receives a monthly wellness basket, which includes:
Fresh vegetables – Locally sourced seasonal produce to encourage healthy cooking
Eggs – A vital source of protein
Soap – For personal hygiene, contributing to overall health
These baskets reinforce lessons from the weekly sessions and ensure that women can immediately apply what they’ve learned.
Impact
75 women are currently enrolled and actively participating.
5 groups meet weekly, ensuring personalized attention and strong group dynamics.
Participants report increased awareness about nutrition and mental health.
Educators observe improved group cohesion, reduced stress levels, and greater motivation to adopt healthier lifestyles.
Looking Ahead
In the coming months, we plan to:
Introduce cooking demonstrations during some nutrition sessions
Expand stress management techniques to include guided group discussions
Collect baseline and follow-up data to more systematically measure outcomes
Gratitude
None of this would be possible without your support. Your donations are directly improving the lives of these women and, by extension, their families and communities. Thank you for your continued commitment to empowering women through health, knowledge, and dignity.
