Help Children in Need to Become Leaders of Change
By Ana Vieru | Project Manager
Our initiative aims to empower 970 students from disadvantaged rural areas in North-East Romania through creativity workshops, health education, and emotional support. These interventions are designed to help children overcome significant challenges, allowing them to unlock their full potential and continue their studies. Despite the immense obstacles they face, these children demonstrate an extraordinary ability to rise above their circumstances and progress in their personal and academic development.

- Teacher Training: Creativity workshops for teachers encouraged the adoption of innovative teaching methods and curriculum design, empowering educators to create lasting impact.
- Key Outcomes:
-
-
- Children have participated in activities designed to enhance their confidence and skills.
- Teachers have adopted new methodologies that create more engaging and supportive classroom environments.
- Children are showing increased resilience, better problem-solving abilities, and a greater willingness to pursue their education.
- Challenges Addressed
The NE region of Romania is among the EU's poorest areas, and rural poverty compounds educational disadvantages. The children we work with face systemic barriers, including limited financial resources and exposure to violence. Our program interrupts this cycle by providing a supportive and engaging environment that fosters both learning and personal growth.
Solutions Implemented
Our structured approach, focusing on small groups and tailored activities, ensures each child receives the attention they need to thrive. By training teachers, we multiply our impact, creating a ripple effect that extends well beyond our direct interventions.
Long-Term Impact
The children we support will grow into confident leaders who can challenge societal norms, address local issues, and break free from the cycles of poverty and discrimination. By cultivating their talents and resilience, we empower them to influence their communities positively and inspire others to follow in their footsteps.
Next Steps
- Expand Teacher Training Programs: Equip more educators with the tools needed to implement creative learning strategies.
- Increase Health Education Outreach: Broaden the scope of health sessions to ensure children in other communities gain access to vital information.
- Secure Remaining Funding: Raise the remaining €5,160 to continue our impactful work and scale our activities further.

Warm greetings!
As a response to the alarming increase in drug use among young people in Romania, the Streetaware Association started in January 2024, to carry out drug prevention activities in schools.
We have carried out emotional resilience development programs for students in over 20 schools in the city of Iasi to prevent drug use caused by stress and overwhelming life situations, in which more than 500 students participated. Also, we have held support groups and psychological counseling with teenagers and young people who use drugs in the city.
In parallel, we have continued to offer social and psychological services for approximately 30 refugee children from Ukraine.
Thank you so much for donating to our project!
