Women empowerment update at El Shaddai

By Julia Matthew | Managing Director

Dear Friend,

I hope this update finds you and your loved ones in good health.

We are very grateful for your tremendous help. 2020 was a burdensome and a challenging year for all of us, but with your support, we continued to change the lives of many rural women in Goa to improve and enhance their social and economic status in society. They hail from the impoverished community, often lagging behind in human advancement indicators. It is a proven truth that if income lies in the hands of women, it ensures better wellbeing for her and the entire family.

Hence, keeping in mind that empowering and equipping them with better incomes will bring greater benefits to the community; we have restarted with the vocational training in all the 3 Community centres from the month of October. Currently, we are running various vocational courses Batch Wise, Like Tailoring, Computer, Mehandi, and Crochet. In total we have around 80 women enrolled in different courses of their choice and are enjoying learning new skills. We are also planning to start adult literature very soon.

We have currently employed 6 instructors at the centres. Each of them is excited to have the opportunity to teach their students new skills back to back. We are excited to see the growth in all of these students. Thank you for being part of this extraordinary journey. It is because of you that we are able to reach the people in this community!

We will keep you updated on the progress and hope that you continue your support for this project. Your support means a lot to us.

If you would like to regularly engage in this Endeavour and project, we encourage you to start a monthly recurring donation for a small amount, which will go a long way in giving them a bright future. The link to a recurring donation is:

With regards,

El Shaddai
